Leaving Las Vegas
I took the requisite "view from our room" picture.

What you see is the MGM Grand and several other casinos behind it.
We drove through some impressive mountains, as usual.

For awhile we were literally tumblin' along with the tumblin' tumbleweeds. The wind was impressive and every so often, an incredibly brittle, dried up bit of shrubbery would roll across the road and get smashed into a thousand pieces by a car. Then, we ran fresh out of tumbleweeds, because the countryside started looking like this:

Yes, practically no vegetation, just sand. But, the wind was still going strong. The car got a little dusty. Then, we entered California and drove across the Mojave Desert. Which looked remarkably like Nevada. The altitude was not quite as high as the day before, we only got a little over 4000 ft (as compared to the over 7000 ft in Utah!). We started seeing signs like this:

We were now in the San Bernadino Mountains and they were beautiful.

We drove and we drove and we drove, until finally, we saw this sign:

We made it!
